History:

Allens, Inc., a family-owned and operated vegetable processor, remains focused on the same core values that were set when the company was founded. Allens, Inc. began as Allen Canning Company in 1926 near Siloam Springs, Arkansas. The growth and expansion continued as more items were added to Allens' product line and state of the art facilities enhanced productivity. During the seventies, growth allowed for the purchase of other companies and brands like Popeye Brand Spinach. Allen Canning continued to increase their market share and began packing larger institutional sized cans in the 1980s. During the current CEO's tenure, the company has continued to expand through the acquisitions of Trappeys, Princella, Veg-All, Freshlike, and New Harvest Foods. In 2006, with the acquisition of Flint River Foods, Allen Canning Company became Allens, Inc.

Allens' continuing mission is to provide quality foods and services to its many customers. The combined forces of the frozen food and canning industries have made Allens, Inc. more versatile in meeting customers' needs and expectations. A wide variety of quality food products, dedicated hard-working employees, and continued reinvestment into the company have energized Allens' growth to become the company we are today. Allens, Inc. now operates six vegetable processing facilities and several distribution centers in Arkansas, Georgia, North Carolina, and Wisconsin. We are one of the largest privately held vegetable processing companies in the nation.
