Technologies

Extrusion spinning is one of the strengths of BBA Fiberweb. Spunbond, Melt-blown and SMS fabrics made of PP, PE, PP/PE, PA, PP/PA or PET can be combined with various bonding technologies like thermal calender, through-air, steam and needle punch. Hydrophobic, hydrophilic, antistatic and antimicrobial surface treatments, ultraviolet stabilisation, flame retardant, stretching or resin coating can further enhance the properties of BBA's Nonwovens products. Additionally, technologies like carded nonwovens and the new airlaid facility in China offer further flexibility through the use of raw materials such as pulp, cotton and viscose to create products with properties suited for use in a wide variety of applications. BBA Fiberweb Composite Technologies, including laminates of nonwoven with films, fibres and elastic materials set the pace in the industry. Korma's proprietary technology and the Celbond Particulate Structure by AQF Filtration are further innovations that allow our customers to diversify their products. And BBA Fiberweb provides high quality bleached cotton fibers for use in the production of medical, consumer and hygiene products.

Joint Ventures

To further enhance its product line and geographic presence, BBA Fiberweb has entered into a number of joint ventures. These joint-ventures include: Finotech Verbundstoffe GmbH, Germany, a pro-ducer of breathable and non-breathable films and composites; Coronor Composites GmbH, Germany, manufacturing products for diverse applications such as building, medical and hygiene; Cordustex Manufacturing Ltd., South Africa, a producer of spunbonded fabrics; CNC International, Co. Ltd., Thailand, a producer of spunbonded and SMS fabrics for the hygiene, industrial and medical markets; SGN Co, Saudi Arabia, producing spunbonded and Multidenier Nonwovens targeted at hygiene, industrial, agricultural and medical markets; Advanced Design Concepts, ADC, a 50/50 BBA/Dow Joint Venture, is a technology development and licensing company chartered to develop break-through innovations for the hygiene, medical, industrial and apparel markets.
