Clark & Daughtrey Medical Group P.A.
The Clark & Daughtrey Medical Group is a corporation governed by a Board of Directors with the approval of the shareholders. At present there are 25 shareholders. All physicians are employed for a period of two years after which they become eligible for shareholder status.
The Clark & Daughtrey Medical Group celebrated its 50th anniversary in 1999. It is a thirty-one physician, multispecialty group located in central Florida. The group specialties include: Cardiology [Invasive/ Interventional/Electrophysiology], Family Practice, Geriatrics, Gynecology [no OB], Hematology and Oncology, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Pediatrics, Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine [Pulmonary Function Lab in the Clinic], Otolaryngology, Rheumatology, General & Vascular Surgery, and Orthopedic Surgery.
Clark & Daughtrey has an office in north Lakeland (Northside) that is staffed by an Internal Medicine physician and a Family Practice physician. An office in south Lakeland (Lakeside) that is staffed by a neurologist, pediatrician, two internal medicine/gerontologists and a Walk-In Clinic staffed by an internal medicine physician and an ARNP. There is a pediatric office staffed with three pediatricians and an ARNP in Winter Haven and a satellite oncology office in Sebring. The Main and Southgate offices are across the street from each other and the remaining physician offices are in those two locations. The two medical oncologists and two radiation therapists are located at the Center for Cancer Care & Research located at 1730 Lakeland Hills Boulevard. They provide chemotherapy, radiation therapy and medical oncology services. The cancer center is affiliated with the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute in Tampa, FL.
There is one hospital, Lakeland Regional Medical Center, which is licensed for 850+ beds. The hospital provides services from family practice to open heart surgery. There are three cardiothoracic surgeons on the hospital staff. The hospital has four intensive care units: MICU, SICU, CCU, PICU, ten interventional cardiology suites and is a Level II Trauma Center.
Lakeland's population is 80,000+ and the Polk County population is 450,000+. Lakeland is the approximate geographic center of Florida approximately 30 minutes from north Tampa and south Orlando. There are five colleges and the University of South Florida has a Lakeland campus. There are ten private and parochial schools, two "magnet schools" and Harrison School of the Arts. In 1998, Lakeland was recognized by Money Magazine as the 10th "Best Place to Live in America" for medium-sized cities in the south.
The Tampa Bay Bucs/Current Super Bowl Champions, Orlando Magic, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, and Tampa Bay Lightning, offer professional football, basketball, baseball, and hockey and Lakeland is the spring training site of the Detroit Tigers.
