Business Administration:
The Business Administration program provides students with the computer hardware and software skills necessary for entry-level employment in such positions as project tracker, PIC operator, and area secretary.
Students are introduced to a variety of computer operating systems, computer software applications, and office procedures and practices.
Medical Administration:
This program provides students with the medical administrative training and computer information processing skills necessary for career-entry employment in a variety of computer-assisted medical office settings, including hospitals and medical and dental offices and insurance and billing companies.
Students learn medical terminology, transcription, insurance and coding, and computerized patient accounting. Students are introduced to word processing and spreadsheet applications in the DOS Windows environments. CPR certification is included.
Computer Network Technology:
The Computer Network Technology major offers instruction in the practical aspects of computer and network maintenance and repair with emphasis on logical troubleshooting techniques.
Students are prepared for entry-level positions such as electronics technician, desktop support specialist, systems coordinator, and field technician.
The core courses provide students with a foundation in analog and digital electronics fundamentals, while advanced technical courses provide knowledge in specialized network and infrastructure technology such as fiber optics.
IT/Networking & Security Management:
This major provides students with the skills and knowledge necessary for graduates to acquire entry-level training-related employment as a network security specialist in a variety of settings including:
- Technical support and organization help desks
- Management information systems departments
- Internet service providers
- Web service providers
- Information technology solution providers
- Student must be eligible for security clearances at the highest level.
IT/Web Design:
The Information Technology/Web Design major prepares students to enter the field of web and computer graphic design. Students learn how to develop professional computer graphics for business solutions.
Students study Internet basics, web page design, computer 2D/3D graphic and game design, multimedia design and computer programming. Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are developed through training. The importance of good communication and teamwork skills is emphasized throughout the program. Specific program objectives are:
- Graduates will be able to create well-designed, user-friendly, interactive media.
- Graduates will be able to demonstrate solid graphic design concepts that may be applied in a number of applications, including but not limited to web site creation.
- Graduates will be able to demonstrate collegiate level competency in reading, oral and written communication skills and proficiency in mathematics
