Keystone Health Center

COMPANY PROFILE

How We Began

Keystone Health Center's history dates back to 1986 when the center was known as Keystone Migrant Health Center. Initially, Keystone was founded to provide health care to migrant and seasonal farm workers residing and working in Franklin County.

Who We Are Today

Today, Keystone Health Center is a public, non-profit organization employing more than 300 caring and compassionate physicians, nurses and staff members who provide quality health care to individuals and families with and without health insurance.

The Center operates as a network of six primary care sites - Keystone Family Medicine, Keystone Behavioral Health, Keystone Internal Medicine, Keystone Dental Care, Keystone Women's Care, and Franklin County Pediatrics - and one specialty practice, Franklin County Heart Center, in Chambersburg, PA.

The Keystone Healthcare Network also includes a year-round migrant and seasonal farmworker site in Berks County and a seasonal farmworker site in Adams County.

Payments

Most insurances are accepted, including Medical Assistance and Medicare. If you do not have insurance, or have limited coverage, Keystone will work with you to help you meet your payment obligations. A Reduced Fee scale program is available, depending on your income and family size. Assistance in applying for the children's health insurance program (CHIP) is available. No one is ever turned away regardless of ability to pay.

Our Mission

At Keystone Health Center our mission is to eliminate barriers to health care by providing affordable, accessible and compassionate medical, dental and support services to men, women and children of all ages, races and economic backgrounds. As we continue to work toward increasing access to health care for the uninsured and underserved, we are also faced with understanding patient needs that go well beyond basic primary health care. Differing cultures, varied languages, and other barriers prevent many people from seeking medical care that could promote a healthier lifestyle and result in improved health status. By recognizing such needs, Keystone has made it a part of its mission to adapt and meet the requirements of special populations, offering a system of health care delivery that ensures primary health care for all, regardless of special circumstances.

Keystone is reaching out to immigrants, migrant farmworkers, homeless people, at-risk children, the frail elderly, residents of public housing, a broad range of racial, ethnic and language groups, and those at risk for HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, and other chronic and catastrophic diseases.

Benefits

We pride ourselves in providing an Employee Benefit Program that is fair to our employees and competitive with the programs offered by practices of a similar nature. Eligible employees at Keystone Health Center are offered a wide range of benefits, some of which require contributions from employees, but most of which are fully paid by Keystone Health Center. A number of the programs (such as Social Security, workers' compensation, state disability, and unemployment insurance) cover all employees in the manner prescribed by the law.
