Rogers Public Schools
The Rogers School District is committed to providing an environment of educational excellence where all belong, all learn and all succeed. We are a growing school district, which is adding one new school almost every year. Rogers students enjoy a special hometown atmosphere as well as a rich diversity of classmates.
We serve more than 13,000 students in our 13 elementary schools, one K-7 school, two middle schools, two junior high schools, a sophomore center, one high school and an alternative school.
Rogers High School is the first high school in the state to receive the Arkansas Quality Award (Commitment Level), and both of our middle schools have been named the most outstanding middle schools in the state in recent years.
Our student achievements include numerous National Merit Finalists, Odyssey of the Mind world competitors, and Ivy League graduates. Our seniors are awarded more than $3.4 million in scholarships each year. Our students also excel in extracurricular activities and have been recent state champions in girls soccer, boys and girls cross country, chess, debate and mock trial.
Our teachers are dedicated to helping children achieve the skills and knowledge they need for a lifetime of success. They are a friendly, caring, professional staff that work as a team to meet the needs of every student.
Our teachers have formed a professional learning community dedicated to continual improvement and studying the latest teaching techniques and educational innovations. Each year the district brings in nationally renowned experts to help teachers deliver the best possible instruction to our students. Forty-six percent of our teachers, administrators, and supervisors have earned advanced degrees.
The Rogers School District highly values its teachers and offers them one of the highest career income potentials for teachers available in the state.
Our teachers have recently distinguished themselves as the Outstanding Environmental Educator of the Year, Hero of the Heart Award Winners, State Cross Country Coach of the Year, Wal-Mart State Teacher of the Year, Regional Baseball Coach and Assistant Coach of the Year, and a NASDAQ National Economics Teaching Award Finalist. We have 18 national board certified teachers and three Milken Family Foundation Fellows.
Our community members and our parents volunteer thousands of hours each year in our schools. Every day, volunteers tutor students, organize parent centers, assist teachers and serve as mentors. Community and parent involvement helps our students achieve their best.
Our community expects the best in its school facilities, and our support staff ensures that our students have an ideal environment for learning with clean, well-maintained buildings. Visit one of our schools and you will see them literally shine!
Students also have access to the finest classroom technology. Our community has dedicated one mill to ensuring the students have the latest technological resources they need. The district has nearly 4,000 school computers and a computer-to-student ratio of 1:4. All schools have e-mail and direct access to the Internet through T1 lines. Our media centers also offer students a wealth of information to draw upon for classroom and homework assignments.
Our district is also committed to providing students, parents and staff as much information as possible on-line for your convenience such as homework assignments, contact information, grades, board policies, lunch menus and school event calendars.
