Qualifications
B.S. or M.S. in technical science (preferably Chemistry) at an accredited college or university.

Strong knowledge of chemistry techniques with specific expertise in one or more BI products and/or QC-related processes.

Ability to troubleshoot new and existing methods.

Strong regulatory and compliance background.

Good written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills.

Ability to interpret and analyze technical data and trouble-shoot analytical instruments.

Ability to train and supervise technicians and hourly workers in a technical environment.

Attention to detail.

Leadership qualities.

Ability to develop, validate and implement new testing methods and improve existing methods.

Knowledge of applicable portions of 9CFR and European Pharmacopoeia.

Responsibilities
Perform raw material and finished product testing in accordance with BIVI practices.

Participates in special projects to support QC, Biological R&D, and Company goals.

Maintains laboratory supplies, ensuring no delays in testing due to insufficient stock.
Train and support analysts in the performance of routine production and stability assays.
Writes SOPs in compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.

Writes study protocols and technical reports for non-routine testing.
Coordinates activities with various production departments to insure the timely assay of raw materials and finished products.

Maintains, troubleshoots, ensures calibration and repairs instrumentation.
Reviews and approves analyst data.

Maintains compliance with BIVI polices, safety requirements, and GxP requirements.
