Duties: Serves as a clinical psychologist performing psychotherapy with patients, either through individual or group therapy sessions. Performs clinical assessments. Screens and interviews patients and performs bio-psychological social evaluations. Analyze clinical assessments, monitor and evaluate patient intake. Selects and approves treatment priorities. Conducts therapy, monitors and approves all treatment planning, and provides advice for case staffing. Develops treatment processes and procedures for orientation of patients. Evaluates information/education processes. Evaluates overall effectiveness of therapeutic efforts. Institutes changes to increase effectiveness. Executes performance initiatives (PI)s; performs special actions and a variety of program administrative duties; and performs a wide variety of quality management/quality assurance (QM/QA) duties. Oversees and interprets appropriate tests. Conducts program evaluation. Reviews statistical data to modify program goals.

The purpose of this position is to formulate comprehensive treatment plans to aid in restoring and rehabilitating patients with acute, chronic, or severe personality, emotional, and mental illness. Employee participates in multi-disciplinary patient care teams to further determine a patient's psychotherapy treatment.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY: Satisfactory completion of all the requirements for the doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology is required.
IN ADDITION TO THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, APPLICANTS MUST HAVE ONE YEAR OF SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE EQUIVALENT TO THE NEXT LOWER PAY BAND.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is demonstrated by expert knowledge of general and specific concepts, principles, procedures, and practices relating to psychological counseling and skill and ability sufficient to serve as a consultant, advisor, and resource person to other psychologists, staff members, etc. Expert knowledge of the full range of psychological testing in order to serve as a consultant, advisor, and resource person to patient staff, courts, community leaders, etc. Expert knowledge of psychodynamics, psychopathology, and therapeutic techniques in order to provide consultation and therapy to the most complex and difficult cases. Ability to analyze clinical assessments of patients sufficient to validate the appropriateness of care provided and attainment of stated objectives. Skill to prepare accurate written case documentation involving multiple dysfunctions and the more complex cases, general correspondence, congressional correspondence, and staff papers. Ability to present higher level command briefings, court testimonies, and conduct community liaison, in-service etc.
NOTE: Must meet credentialing and certification requirements. Conditions of employment:
1) Clinical Certification Examination - must pass the Alcohol Drug Prevention and Control Program (ADAPCP) clinical certification examination
2) Must have valid state Psychologist certification
3) Must consent to a criminal history background investigation.

This position is a TERM position. It is temporary and may be extended up to a maximum of four years.
Permanent Change of Station (PCS) expenses may be authorized.

License/Certification: Licensed Clinical Psychologist and BLS Certification
