SUMMARY:
Provides medically prescribed physical therapy services to inpatients and outpatients to restore function, prevent disability following injury or disease, and assist the patient in reaching their maximum capabilities while learning to live within the limits of their disability. This individual may practice limited physical therapy only under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program. Must possess current Physical Therapist Assistant license from the State of Maryland. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, family members, and other hospital personnel. Must be competent in the delivery of physical therapy treatment under the direction of Physical Therapists. This includes, but is not limited to: exercise, mobility training, massage, heat, water and light.Must possess current, or temporary, Physical Therapist Assistant license from the State of Maryland. Must maintain current CPR certification.
