Job Description:
The TL-Mental Health works under the supervision of Service Leader-Medical Services has the responsibility for managing and coordinating the development, implementation, clinical programming of Heartland Health's acute mental health unit. Particular emphasis will be given to the facilitation of confidential individualized care offered by multidisciplinary treatment team headed by the Unit's Medical Director. The patients served by the Mental Health Unit are youths (17 years, 9 months and older), adults and geriatrics.
Performs other duties assigned.

Works with the Medical Director to coordinate the work of the multidisciplinary team assuring the development of confidential individualized treatment plans.
Works closely with the unit Medical Director as well as Heartland Health Team Leaders in a matrix style of management.
Monitors unit work to assure the program(s) meet regulatory requirements as put forth by accreditation, certification, and agency standards.
Assists in the development of operating policies and procedures.
Participates in the development of the annual unit budget and controls unit expenses according to budget allocations.
Directs and controls the utilization of unit physical facilities, equipment, furniture, and supplies.
Prepares periodic reports, special studies, and recommendations on conditions and problems encountered in the conduct of the unit.
Works on committees in the community to coordinate and integrate services.

EDUCATION:
BSN
LICENSURE:
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Missouri.
EXPERIENCE:
Three years management/supervisory experience.
ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL/MOTOR SKILLS:
The Team Leader will have a thorough knowledge of the clinical and technical skills needed to provide high quality outcomes within the service. Knowledge of the operational and technical skills to meet high quality outcome. The Team Leader will be expected to direct other leaders to resources to be used to develop technical answers. Team Leaders will have the skills to develop processes to be used to respond to all customer groups, regardless of the level of technical skill needed.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Team oriented, ability to develop and analyze core processes and plan implementation. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and present a positive image for the Heartland Health organization. Must be motivated and emote a positive attitude. Ability to work independently. Possess strong negotiation skills.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Moving, walking, balancing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, reaching, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and restraining. Must travel throughout the Heartland complex to meet with users in their environment.
ESSENTIAL MENTAL ABILITIES:
The Team Leader will possess a set of skills including, but not limited to forecasting, analyzing, synthesizing, explaining, adapting, comprehending, interpreting data, negotiating, organizational skills, speaking in front of groups, team leadership, conflict resolution, listening skills, the ability to select and develop a competent team leader staff, and the flexibility to meet the changing needs of the enterprise, and analytical skills. The Team Leader will maintain skills in process improvement and change management.
ESSENTIAL SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to communicate via telephone and in person. Must be able to review reports and organization goals for quality and accuracy. Communicate effectively with all levels of staff and customers.
