Records Maintenance Specialist (Part-time)

Job Location: Washington, DC

Job Description:
HR Anew, Inc. is a human resources consulting and professional services firm. We are currently seeking a Part-time Records Maintenance Specialist to join our team of professionals.

Successful candidates shall provide administrative, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and clerical support to an U.S. Department of Treasury agency located in Washington, D.C. The normal hours of operation are between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Mondays through Fridays with an occasional weekend over the course of the year. The part-time employee will work up to 20 hours/week on an on-call basis.

Duties:
* Receive, sort, and distribute mail, packages, and documents daily for approximately 45 employees. Package and ship records.
* Code, create, and maintain files.
* Perform Financial Management records management/retirement duties.
* Maintain automated databases in support of the filing system.
* Provide assistance to department customers as requested.
* Document deficiencies or problems and report them to the client for direction.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 6 months experience working in an accounting, records maintenance, and/or administrative environment; one year of college education; an associate degree in accounting, business, or related field - bachelor degree preferred. Competent using Microsoft Office products including Excel, and other financial management computer software programs such as Oracle or PeopleSoft; ability to design spreadsheets and perform other administrative tasks; operate office equipment; knowledge of government record retention guidelines and procedures helpful; ability to work as part of a team; be able to lift up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis; possess good oral and written communication skills; and have a security clearance or be eligible for security clearance at the Position of Public Trust level.
