MDS Coordinator--Full-time-- Day shift

Job Location: Washington DC

Job Description
HR Anew is a human resources consulting and professional services firm located in Columbia, MD. We help employers recruit, educate, and retain employees. We have been engaged by a 183-bed long-term care facility, to identify the best available MDS Coordinator for full time employment for their District of Columbia location.

Position summary:
The primary duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Responsible for assessing resident conditions upon admission in accord with requirements contained in the Minimum Data Sheet (MDS);
  • Compile data from MDS and uses Resident Assessment Protocols (RAPs) to assist the Interdisciplinary Care Plan team;
  • Attend all care plan meetings;
  • Develop and maintain calendars, schedules, and protocols to ensure timely completion of assessments for all residents;
  • Accountable for ensuring overall compliance with federal regulations related to comprehensive assessments of nursing home residents;
  • Conduct quarterly quality assurance studies;
  • Ensures MDS is completed accurately daily;
  • Provides training regarding assessment instruments, data entry and regulations;

Qualifications:
  • Must possess the ability to work caringly with long term care and geriatric patients; communicate with staff, residents, and family members; and document specific information regarding patient care as required;
  • Experience in nursing assessments, planning, implementation and evaluation;
  • BSN preferred; graduate from accredited school of nursing;
  • 2 years experience in long-term care or gerontology;
  • Possess valid DC RN license;
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs;
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States of America;
  • Must be able to successfully complete a reference check and background investigation.
