Nursing Manager--Full-time-- Day shift

Job Description
HR Anew is a human resources consulting and professional services firm located in Columbia, MD. We help employers recruit, educate, and retain employees. We have been engaged by a 183-bed long-term care facility, to identify the best available Nurse Manager for full time employment for their District of Columbia location.
Position summary:
The primary duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Complete employee evaluations;
- Complete all administrative duties and responsibilities in the management of a nursing unit;
- Promote the professional growth of nursing staff by providing opportunities for ongoing education, impromptu teaching, and encouragement;
- Conduct applicant interviews for all CNA and LPN staff;
- Upholds OSHA guidelines and safe workplace practices;
- Maintain ongoing knowledge of resident care needs and establishes plans for nursing intervention and method of evaluation care;
- Seeks assistance and/or advice of the Director of Nursing as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Must possess the ability to work caringly with long term care and geriatric patients; communicate with staff, residents, and family members; and document specific information regarding patient care as required;
- Must possess and maintain licensure and certification as required by regulation;
- Collaborate with clinical coordinators and other department heads in the management of staff and coordination of resident care;
- Demonstrate competence with situational management and conflict resolution;
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs;
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States of America;
- Must be able to successfully complete a reference check and background investigation.
