Controller (Full-time)

Job Location: Baltimore, MD

Summary
HR Anew is a Human Resources consulting and professional services firm located in Columbia, MD. We help employers recruit, educate, and retain employees. (www.hranew.com) We are seeking an Controller for our client, a rapidly growing Lettershop/Directmail organization serving the Mid-Atlantic Region located in Arbutus, Maryland.

This role will be involved with all aspects of the finance and accounting operations. Solid communication, technology, and analytical abilities a must; Providing leadership and coordination of company financial planning, debt financing, and budget management functions. Ensure company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

· Responsible for overseeing Accounting Department with 5-7 direct reports.
· Direct and coordinate company financial planning and budget management functions.
· Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of divisions and departments.
· Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget.
· Direct and coordinate debt financing and debt service payments with external agencies.
· Oversee daily operations of the Accounting department.
· Manage the preparation of the official annual report of actual revenues, transfers, and expenses.
· Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and financial forecasts.
· Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions.
· Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements.
· Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
· Oversee financial management of foreign operations to include developing financial and budget policies and procedures.
· Direct financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
· Train, supervise, and evaluate department staff.

Requirements:
· BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or related major
· CPA certification a plus.
· 5+ years of experience in financial management
· Excellent computer skills, Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks experience required;
· Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
· Manufacturing or mail industry experience a plus
· Knowledge of and experience with GAAP, SOX, budgets, balance sheets, and accruals desired.
