Responsibilities:
The Systems Safety Specialist will be responsible for:
-Conducting aircraft level assessments and preparing documentation such as: Aircraft Hazard Assessment, Safety Analyses (including FTA and Common Cause Analysis), Zonal and Fire Hazard Analysis, etc.
-Supporting and working jointly with Reliability and Maintainability colleagues in an ongoing role.
-Reviewing and overseeing vendor conducted safety analyses as they relate to the RMAS process.
-Coordinating identification of failure cases that need to be analyzed, simulated or tested and interfacing with the system and simulation/test groups to provide closure on failure case testing requirements.
Qualifications
-Bachelors degree in engineering, a related curriculum, or equivalent combination of appropriate education and experience.
-Advanced degree in engineering related field preferred.
-Proven systems safety and aircraft certification experience necessary.
-Detailed knowledge of the existing system safety processes and tools used to execute the process.
-Familiarity with requirements and guidelines of 14 CFR 25.1309, and AC 25.1309, as well as the RMAS process as contained in ARP4761, and ARP 4754.
-Familiarity with the new and upcoming guidance material as it relates to the above.
-Logical, analytical, problem-solving mind. Minimum of 5 years relevant experience required.
-Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office, including databases.
-Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with an ability to prioritize individual and Team deliverables/activities and meet targets.
-Willing to travel as necessary to support program development and work evenings and weekends, if necessary.
