Primary Duties:
Position Summary: Under supervision of the Registered Nurse, performs non-technical routine client care duties in the medical center for infant through geriatric age patients.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
A. Essential Function:
1. Assists patient with routine activities of daily living, i.e. bathing, toileting, dressing, shaving, eating, etc.
2. Assists with ambulation.
3. Promotes mental alertness through conversation, reading, games, and other activities.
4. Reports changes in patient's mental or physical conditions to the Registered Nurse.
5. Maintains mandatory requirements of Mary Greeley Medical Center.
Job Requirements:
A. Physical Requirements:
Medium work is exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
B. Physical Activity:
1. Stooping is bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
2. Kneeling is bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
3. Crouching is bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
4. Reaching is extending hands and arms in any direction.
5. Standing is particularly for sustained periods of time.
6. Walking is moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances.
7. Pushing is using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward, or outward.
8. Pulling is using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
9. Fingering is picking, pinching, typing, or working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling.
10. Grasping is applying pressure to an object, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
11. Talking is expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken work. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
12. Hearing is the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication.
13. Repetitive motions are substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
Ability to understand oral and written communications; ability to exercise judgement to seek help; ability to detect and report changes in client’s general condition; ability to maintain confidentiality.
