Summary:
Montgomery College, with campuses located in Germantown, Rockville, and Takoma Park/Silver Spring, is seeking to compile a database of qualified candidates for Pool Operators positions. The Office of Human Resources receives requests to fill temporary lifeguard positions and will use this pool of candidates to help fill those positions.
Job Summary: Positions are responsible for providing life guarding services, monitoring access to the facility, cleaning and maintaining the pool and related areas, performing special event preparation, set-up and breakdown and other duties as assigned. Positions are also responsible for supervising staff in the above duties, the operation of the swimming pool including water testing, balancing of the water chemistry, and ensuring operational compliance with all applicable regulations. Work schedule will vary. Early morning, day, evening, and weekend work may be required. Salary is $13 per hour.
Qualifications: All applicants must be currently certified as a lifeguard in accordance with the Montgomery County Health Department including cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) certifications. In addition, all applicants must be currently licensed as a Montgomery County, Maryland Pool Operator. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions as well as the ability to routinely perform physically demanding tasks involving swimming, heavy lifting, prolonged sitting and standing, stooping, climbing, and reaching are required.
Experience: Experience working as a pool operator in Montgomery County is preferred.
