Montgomery College is seeking a full-time English as a Second Language faculty member for the American English Language Program (AELP) at the Germantown Campus. Assignment begins January, 2009.
Starting salary range is $46,521 to $66,321 per year.

English as a Second Language Faculty - Position # 2367 – Germantown Campus.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher who exhibits a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to our students, and the ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner.
Required:
Master’s degree in TESOL or in a related field, such as linguistics, English, composition, speech, reading, education or modern languages, with 18 graduate credits in TESOL.
Experience teaching multicultural students or international students in a post-secondary setting.
Knowledge of a second language and experience with other cultures.
Preferred:
Teaching experience in ESL composition, reading or oral communication in a community college environment.
Demonstrated experience in incorporating technology successfully into pedagogy.
Experience in taking leadership roles within an academic department; willingness to take on leadership roles.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Faculty members teach a full range of ESL courses, including writing/grammer, reading, and oral communication from beginner to advanced .
Faculty members are assigned a teaching load consisting of a standard minimum of thirty (30) equivalent semester hours per academic year.
A teaching schedule may include day or evening classes. Opportunities may exist for teaching summer classes.
Faculty members are expected to serve on department, campus, and College-wide committees, advise students, participate in course and program development, mentor adjunct faculty, maintain an active program of professional development, and participate in professional organizations and activities.
