Brief Description
Performs activities related to mechanical work on equipment at compressor, pipeline, storage, gathering, fractionation, and/or gas processing facility.
Detailed Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Perform mechanical work on fixed and rotating equipment at various locations including but not limited to:
o Internal combustion, diesel, natural gas powered engines and electrical drivers
o Compressors, pumps, generators, turbines, valves, electrical equipment, and well equipment
2. Service, troubleshoot, maintain, install and repair structural, mechanical, electrical, and/or well equipment. Conduct performance analyses, including emissions testing.
3. Order and/or secure parts and supplies.
4. Maintain, prepare, and/or interpret reports and/or records including but not limited to:
o Work logs and service orders
o Inspection reports
o Engine/equipment maintenance and repair records
o Pressure readings
o Material and supply orders
5. Drive and ensure maintenance is complete on company vehicles.
6. Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
7. Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
1. Experience in use and function of hand and power tools and equipment applicable to position.
2. Application of basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Application of decimals and percentages.
3. Experience servicing, maintaining, and repairing equipment.
4. Experience relative to company and/or governmental operating/safety policies and procedures.
5. Demonstrated ability in reading and interpreting work and repair orders, drawings, charts, diagrams, dials, gauges, warranties, quotations, procedures, and equipment manuals.
6. Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSING:
1. Applicable driver's license.
2. Applicable certifications as required by position.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Lift, push, pull, or move objects weighing up to 10 pounds 20-25 times a day; up to 20 pounds 3-5 times a day; up to 30 pounds 3-5 times a day; up to 40 pounds 3-5 times a day; over 50 pounds 3-5 times a day.
2. Climb and/or maneuver over, under, and around engines and equipment while servicing, maintaining, and/or repairing.
3. Fine motor skills for making minute adjustments.
4. Ability to work in confined areas.
5. React immediately to emergency situations to prevent injury to self and others.
6. Able to operate tools and equipment required.
COMMUNICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Communicate and/or exchange written and verbal information and instructions.
VISUAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Able to distinguish between colors.
2. Sufficient to perform precise tuning/timing work.
3. Sufficient to perform job duties.
