Brief Description
Performs advanced level of activities related to operation and maintenance of oil and gas liquid processing facilities with limited supervision. May be required to work rotating shifts.
Detailed Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Operate and maintain processing plant equipment including but not limited to:
o Compressors
o Motors
o Engines
o Cooling equipment
o Auxiliary units
o Pumps
o Turbines
o Treating systems
o DCS/Control Board
2. Monitor and control pressures, temperature, flow rates, and reflux rates.
3. Start, stop, and operate equipment.
o Prepare equipment for maintenance activities including but not limited to:
o Permitting
o Lock out tag out
o Decommissioning
4. Provide training to less experienced operators. Assist mechanics and others in performing repairs to compressors, engines, turbines, auxiliary equipment, pumps, process controls, and related equipment.
5. Identify and report any safety and/or environmental concerns.
6. Compile and/or maintain information such as time sheets, work logs, safety/environmental reports, and equipment maintenance and repair records.
7. Drive and ensure maintenance is complete on company vehicles.
8. Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
9. Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
1. Experience with and thorough knowledge of compressor station, storage field, gathering field, and processing plant operations.
2. Demonstrated ability to analyze, adjust, and perform minor repairs on compressor engines, process facilities, and related equipment.
3. Application of basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division (tested).
4. Working knowledge in use of computers. Demonstrated ability to access and/or perform basic computer functions utilizing company software applications.
5. Experience and training related to:
o Gas and liquid processing fundamentals
o Applicable company and governmental operating practices and procedures
o Safe handling of flammable gases, liquids, and high-pressure systems
6. Experience reading and interpreting drawings, diagrams, work logs, dials, gauges, charts, procedures, and operational and repair manuals.
7. Experience maintaining and preparing information such as work logs, maintenance/repair logs, and time sheets.
8. Experience interacting and communicating effectively.
9. Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSING:
1. Applicable driver's license.
2. Applicable certifications as required by position.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Lift or move objects weighing up to 10 pounds 10-15 times a day; up to 20 pounds 3-5 times a day; up to 30 pounds 3-5 times a day; push or pull objects requiring over 50 pounds exertion 10-15 times a day.
2. Travel over uneven terrain including but not limited to:
o Mud
o Gravel
o Sand
o Rocks
o Ice
o Snow
3. Walk, stand, and kneel/stoop for extended periods.
4. Climb and maintain balance on elevated work surfaces.
5. Ability to work in confined areas.
6. React immediately to emergency situations to prevent injury to self and others.
7. Able to operate tools and equipment required.
COMMUNICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Communicate and/or exchange written and verbal information and instructions.
VISUAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Able to distinguish between colors.
2. Peripheral vision and accurate depth perception.
3. Sufficient vision to perform job duties.
