Description:
Healthcare center in Glenwood Springs has full-time, part-time, and relief positions available as Detox Counselors in the Recovery Center. Detox Counselors have a primary responsibility to ensure the client’s comfort and safety during the detox process and to work with clients to develop plans to access supports and maintain sobriety once they leave the Recovery Center. Detox Counselors are expected to engage the clients utilizing basic counseling skills including motivational interviewing and brief intervention. Counselors will monitor and assess the client’s physical and emotional stability throughout the detox process. Established protocols for a safe detox will be used and staff will monitor blood pressure, body temperature, pulse rate, and breathing rate.
Applicants must posses a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Basic computer skills including office word is needed. Applicants must be highly organized and willing to follow established protocols. A flexible schedule with some days, overnights, and weekends is available.
Minimum Pay:
$15.24 per hour. With relevant experience pay goes up.
