Job Description
The Web Developer will be involved in web-based projects in the areas of E-commerce, online reporting and analysis tools as well as other web based applications.
Responsibilities:
Development and technical integration of Web based programming elements with HTML design elements, HTML design templates, formatting, layout and configuration
Design and development of Web user interfaces for new & existing web based project
Programming and database integration for web applications, online forms, directories, online reports and other store and retrieve applications
Troubleshoot reported problems and bugs in web-based applications, identify problem source, debug and directly resolve the issue or coordinate with other engineers
Manage assigned responsibilities within web-based projects and other related IT projects, which may include creation and maintenance of functional and technical design documents, as well as some general business analysis
Research, development and testing of new technologies for future Web and IT related projects
Work on weekly or monthly updates, maintenance, and enhancements on various Web Based applications and functions
Coordinate and communicate with project manager and other IT and non-IT department resource
Knowledge and Skills:
.NET Framework, ASP.NET 2.0, JavaScript, AJAX
HTML, DHTML, CGI, CSS / Style sheets, XSLT
Strong knowledge of and experience with SQL server
XML, Web Services, MS Access a plus
Successful candidates will also be skilled in Visual C# .Net, Visual Basic .Net and object-oriented development practices
Must have a thorough understanding of the complete web application development process and be able to effectively contribute to that process
Good troubleshooting skills
Must be a team player, possess strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, and have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, both independently as well as with others
Must be able to work closely with business and project leaders to meet project goals and deadlines
Thorough knowledge of and experience with all aspects of Web Development, from user interface design and technical production to mid level programming, database integration, and technical configuration
Education and work experience:
4 Year Degree in a related field
5+ years web design and development experience
Solid experience with developing Web applications
Database design experience
Experience in working with clients to define and document application requirements is a must
Experience serving as team lead on development projects involving a team of developers is preferred
