DESCRIPTION
Technology based company developing and manufacturing innovative pharmaceutical products specializing in advanced and alternative drug delivery through the skin. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a growing organization in an innovative environment on the leading edge of drug delivery technology and microstructures.
SUMMARY:
Directs manufacturing operations (45 people) through a team of functional managers (2) and front line supervisors (3). Ensures increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials, and machine.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
• In charge of day-to-day direction and managing of all manufacturing operations including manufacturing managers, shift supervisors, and all manufacturing personnel.
• Responsible for the operation’s regulatory compliance and safety programs.
• Maintain a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment for Rx and Medical device products.
• Incorporate lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma philosophy to efficiently produce medical devices.
• Direct, develop, and provide technical mentoring to staff to establish operational procedures, solve manufacturing problems, and technical protocols.
• Accountable for cost effectiveness, the budget, and P&L for all manufacturing.
• Facilitate changes to stay competitive in its manufacturing processes and design systems that validate processes. Ensure that staff is responsive to continuous improvement and remain on course for 100 % adherence to product quality targets and delivery schedules. This manufacturing environment combines advance assembly processes, computer technology, chemistry, and is at the extreme end of technology.
• Oversee Manufacturing Resource Planning (MPR) used for controlling in-house material and inventory, and Shop Floor Control system used to balance manufacturing operation workloads and monitor operator efficiency
QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years managerial experience in the pharmaceutical/medical device area, preferably with web converting/pouching manufacturing background and process engineering experience.
• Must have strong knowledge and background in GMP manufacturing, Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma quality program, validation systems, equipment, facilities validation, SOP administration, auditing, and training.
• Specialization and expertise in the area of Coating and Adhesives, and Solvent Recovery Systems.
• Ability to plan over a 3-6 month time span
