EDA Systems Engineer
Job Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Salary range;
$65,000 to $90,000
Duties Experience Comments
Job description:Create and maintain EDA libraries, software, licensing, hardware and documentation. Use electronic CAD tools to create component library for EDA tool suite. Maintain EDA libraries and add new components as needed. Maintain EDA software licensing and installations/upgrades Use mechanical CAD to create 3-D models of components. Link EDA components to simulation models (SPICE, IBIS, thermal, S-parameter, etc.). Link EDA component library to Oracle Parts database and Component Tracker system, Work with all design and manufacturing groups to validate EDA component library. Create/maintain documentation project for EDA libraries and EDA procedures. Maintain documentation for electronic components in component tracker database. Work with designers and the components group to create and maintain component attributes
- Keep current with new electronic assembly techniques.
- Keep current with new EDA vendor software offerings and apply as necessary.
- Develop implementation and training plans when major software updates occur.
- Work with teams to develop ERP, Revision Control and PLM systems to integrate EDA data
- Create/maintain a standard directory structure and Security Control system for all EDA data
- Coordinate hardware and software requirements and file security access with Systems Dept
Requirements:
- Prefer AS, Electronics with 2 years experience in PCB layout or formal training in PCB layout.
- Prefer at least 4 years experience in electronic environment.
- Extensive knowledge in Electronic CAD software preferred.
- Extensive knowledge in Mechanical CAD software preferred.
- Extensive knowledge in high volume electronic assembly techniques preferred.
- Good organizational skills desired.
