The position will involve the development and analysis of interceptor missile guidance, navigation, and control (GN&C) systems. It will focus on analysis and design of GN&C algorithms using tools such as MATLAB and Simulink to perform tradeoff of various system parameters such as required propulsion and sensor performance as well as phenomenology.
Analysis will include consideration of missile closed loop performance including seeker, the airframe aerodynamics including control effectors, sensors including imaging sensors with varying phenomenology, propulsion and divert subsystems. Analysis may also deal with missile defense systems in which it is necessary to model and simulate interceptor performance as part of a system that may include sensor and communication networks and other interceptor systems.
