Requirements:
B.S. degree in Safety Management or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years experience in HSE management.
CSP/CSE designation preferable.
Documented, relevant Chemical Plant experience in HSE management. Internal candidates must receive a recommendation for position from immediate supervisor and responsible HSE Manager.
Possesses working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
Computer skills including Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Internet, Outlook, and Database software.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepares and administers annual HSE budget, monitors and apprises management of performance versus plan.
Plans and implements programs to educate managers and employees in work site safety practices.
Ensures all employees have current company and customer mandated certificates, schedules training and education as required, and provides documentation of completion to corporate office.
Inspects work sites to detect existing or potential hazards. Determines corrective or preventative measures and works with operations managers to ensure implementation.
Works with Plant management in training for and effectively executing behavior based safety processes and TETRA HSE policies.
Investigates accidents and injuries, determines the root cause from incident analysis and prepares reports and recommendations for corrective actions.
The candidate would travel 50% of the time and have H.S.E. oversight for six plants across the U.S.
The client needs someone more on the safety side. Most of all of the work will be health and safety focused. The client has consultants in the environmental area for each of the plants. This position would be more management of the environmental contacts. Health and safety affairs will need some hands on work and involvement with the different plant operation managers.
