Job Description:
The Quality Director will direct the quality management program and infection control, including the functions of performance improvement and quality assurance/improvement for this facility. Reporting to the CMO as the line officer, but also with a reporting responsibility to the Chief Nursing Officer, this individual will be responsible for coordinating those processes and systems necessary for the evaluation, monitoring, and improving the care and service to patients and other customers at Wesley Medical Center with the objective of enhancing patient safety. The Quality Director will manage the information systems, data abstraction, aggregation, and submission to the JCAHO, KFMC, CMS, and other proprietary and/or regulatory agencies as required by law, accreditation standards and as prioritized by hospital leadership and directed by HCA. They will provide education to facility leadership, clinical personnel, the Board of Trustees and medical staff members related to quality management and performance improvement, and patient safety. Will actively participate in outstanding customer service and accept responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Job Requirements:
Knowledge of Quality Management, Infection Control and Performance Improvement principles, regulations, and standards of JCAHO, CMS, and other regulatory agency standards as pertinent required. Capable of gaining immediate credibility with individuals through experience, presentation, communication skills, empathy and compassion. Analytical skills including a working knowledge of basic statistics and statistical analysis methodologies required. Knowledge of PC based computer software, i.e. Work, Excel, Access and /or similar systems preferred. Ability to work independently and interdependently required. Broad knowledge and familiarity with healthcare-related regulatory and accreditation requirements required. Baccalaureate degree (healthcare-related degree preferred) required. Minimum of 5 years health care experience (clinical experience preferred) required. Minimum of 2 years experience in clinical quality management required. Supervisory and/or management experience required. Comfortable and skilled at working with physicians, health care providers and other stakeholders in the organization required. Master’s Degree in Healthcare-related Field preferred. Licensed as an RN or other Healthcare professional required. Certification in Healthcare Quality preferred.
