WMD Intelligence Analyst

Job Location: Laurel, Maryland

Introduction
The Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), a national leader in scientific research and development, located midway between Baltimore and Washington, DC is seeking a WMD Intelligence Analyst.

Responsibilities

Job Description - Take a lead role in conducting studies, assessments and analyses to evaluate technical performance of systems for combating WMDs.

Duties

Provide broad range of technical and policy support to APL's Combating WMD programs. Conduct studies to assess capabilities and risk. Apply systems engineering oversight to monitor and guide program initiatives and solutions. Provide subject matter technical expertise on potential terrorist use of improvised or stolen nuclear devices. Develop CONOPS, requirements in support of program initiatives. Maintain full and timely understanding of the relationships and the status and issues of JHU/APL radiological/nuclear programs for various sponsors. Serve as a key team member for development of the Homeland Protection Business Area, support ongoing efforts to create long-term impact on technology efforts in support of the Global War on Terror.

Qualifications
Required

B.S./B.A. in technical domain or equivalent. Demonstrated ability to perform high-level, multi-organizational studies/analyses and technical assessments in the WMD/Counter-proliferation environment. Commitment to ensuring the success of the APL and the Homeland Protection Business Area. Excellent written/oral communication skills; ability to effectively articulate complex technical issues.

Desired
Graduate degree. Proven track record in developing new programs. Extensive knowledge of and recognition within the nuclear counter-proliferation and counter-terrorism communities is highly desirable. Extensive knowledge of and ability to interact with APL business areas and Departments.

Special Work Conditions
Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time.

Security
Applicants selected will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include US citizenship.
