Job Details:
-Two years of occupationally-specific education or an Associate’s degree in medical records or a closely related field required.
-One to two years of experience with acute hospital inpatient coding experience preferred.
-AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist credential required.
Job Duties:
Uses established ICD-9-CM, and UHDDS guidelines in accurately coding and maintaining inpatient medical records. Ensures optimal DRG assignments, and tissue review statistics.
