Job Details:
-Bachelor's degree Health Information Management (HIM), Transcription, IT or closely related field required.
-Master's degree preferred.
-5+ years of leadership experience in HIM with at least 3 years in an acute care hospital environment required.
-Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist required.
-Certification as a RHIA or RHIT and CTR preferred.
Job Duties:
Under the direction of the Director of Health Information Management, ensures the timely and clinically accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures of patients discharged from inpatient units, Emergency department (ED), Ambulatory Surgery, invasive Radiology, and the outpatient clinics as well as the abstraction of information all cases. Manges staff including Coders and Cancers Registry.
