Position Summary
As a Senior Fixed Equipment Engineer for Koch Mineral Services you will be responsible for processes and procedures to inspect and manage the integrity and reliability of process fixed equipment including; pressure vessels, exchangers, storage tanks, and piping systems at KMS manufacturing plant sites and terminals. This role will be expected to spend a considerable amount of time at the plant sites and facilitate resources at the sites to implement and execute the programs. Key responsibilities are:
• Ownership of the PSM Mechanical Integrity program and any required certifications for fixed equipment
• Develop requirements for and ensure appropriate documentation of equipment and inspections
• Develop and implement appropriate standards, policies, procedures and personnel training
• Develop strategies for fixed equipment reliability programs
• Provide oversight and coordination of inspection services for major fixed equipment at KMS facilities during turnarounds and shutdowns
• Provide oversight and coordination of inspection services for procurement or fabrication
• Perform inspections on an ad-hoc basis
• Provide consultation to facilities and KMS projects on fixed equipment applications including fitness for service, metallurgy, welding, and fabrication procedures
This position will offer broad ownership of fixed equipment mechanical integrity and reliability strategies at a corporate level and will set long term corporate strategic goals. You will be provided with the opportunity to mentor and coach personnel as well as participate in benchmarking and measurement efforts to improve equipment performance and reliability.
Requirements
• 15 years experience in the process industry in engineering or technical roles relating to fixed equipment design, inspection and management
• Equipment Mechanical Integrity and Reliability Management experience
• API 510, 570, and 653 certified or ability to get certified
• Ability to provide leadership to plant site programs and persons without direct supervision and able to work in a “matrixed” leadership capacity with facility operations management
• Application of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
• Good communication skills
• Ability to identify needs and opportunities and work independently to achieve goals
• Must be able to travel and enter plant operating sites to access and inspect equipment
• Ability to climb ladders and work on platforms in excess of 100 feet
• Ability to enter confined spaces and be capable of utilizing all required personal protective equipment
• Ability to support plants which are in continuous operation
• B.S. Degree
Preferred:
• Experience in fertilizer industry and/or experience with metallurgies and equipment for NH3, Urea, UAN and Nitric Acid service
• National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel certification
• Management of programs from a corporate level
• B.S. in Engineering
