Position Overview:
Duties involved with patient feeding. Prepare and set up salads and desserts for in-house patient cafeteria and special meal functions and will assist on patient tray-line assembly. Responsible for washing all dishes pots and pans and patient delivery trays. Responsible for keeping work areas clean and assisting when needed on tray-line.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES JOB DUTIES AND PROJECTS:
1. Works on trayline assembling and filling patient trays for breakfast lunch and dinner meals.
2. Must be accurate and possess dexterity in order to load patient trays in an assembly line method.
3. Assumes closing duties i.e. cleaning work stations preparing work stations for next shift.
4. Correctly stocks all storage areas.
5. Keeps work station supplies correctly dated.
6. Keeps meal delivery carts clean at all times.
7. Responsible for the cleaning and sanitation of the trayline and refrigerators used for patient trayline as well as any equipment used for patient feeding.
8. Keeps all supplies stocked for the use in patient feeding.
9. Sets up and serves the special Candlelight Dinners for new parents.
10. Follows standardized recipes and menus i.e. making jello pudding and snacks.
11. Tastes foods that are prepared to check for consistency texture and quality when needed.
12. Keeps various foods at proper serving temperatures.
13. Responsible for washing all dishes glassware silverware trays pots and pans.
14. Responsible for keeping work areas cleaned at all times including the dish machine.
15. Knowledge of procedures for washing of dishes and utensils.
16. Keeps dishes stocked in the correct area.
17. Wears standard department uniform and approved hair covering at all times.
18. Practices good safety habits.
19. Sensitive and responsive to the needs and feelings of the patients employees and guests in the hospital.
20. Maintains a positive attitude towards the work goals and endeavors of the hospital and of the Nutritional Services Department.
21. Seeks the opportunity to help others whether it be patients employees or guests in the hospital when the need arises.
22. Seeks to produce a high quality of work so as to enhance the over-all goals of the department as well as the hospital.
CAFETERIA RESPONSIBILITES
23. Serve guests and visitors in the cafeteria in a pleasant and professional manner.
24. Prepare coffee and appropriate desserts for cafeteria line breakfast and make sure ice and soft drink machines are filled.
25. Serves correct portions of food to the guests in cafeteria as determined by the cooks and/or kitchen supervisor.
26. Cuts and plates an adequate amount of desserts for the cafeteria line.
27. Cleans tables and chairs in the dining room often and keeps them arranged properly.
28. Keeps cafeteria stocked with proper supplies for next shift or fills out a stock order form for the later shift to fill.
29. Continually cleans serving line including all beverage machines.
30. Keeps refrigerator and warmers clean at all times.
31. Operates cash register accurately and charges correct prices for food.
32. Tactful with guests in the cafeteria line.
CATERING RESPONSIBILITIES
33. Performs catering duties to include table set-ups serving and bussing tables.
34. Available for catering events especially for major functions.
35. Customer service minded.
36. Flexible with varied shift hours.
37. Practical knowledge of catering methods.
Education Requirements:
High school education or equivalent preferred.
Experience Requirements:
Previous experience in food service preferred.
