Position Overview:
Preparation of food for patients cafeteria and special functions and assists on patient trayline.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES JOB DUTIES AND PROJECTS:
1. Prepares meals for patients cafeteria and special functions.
2. Able to meet meal schedules and deadlines.
3. Consistently produces high quality of food.
4. Uses proper equipment in the preparation of food.
5. Must follow standardized recipes and menus.
6. Assists on patient trayline alternating with other morning cook for breakfast and lunch meals.
7. Instructs cafeteria personnel on correct portions of food to be served.
8. Responsible for constant cleaning of all equipment used including ovens refrigerators and work areas.
9. Uses extreme caution in handling food in its storage preparation and in the serving of the food in order to comply with health and sanitation requirements.
10. Tastes foods that are prepared to check for consistency texture and quality.
11. Wears standard department uniform and wears approved hair covering at all times.
12. Advances preparation of food for the next shift.
13. Responsible for keeping foods at proper serving temperature at all times.
14. Learns the modified diets how to prepare for them and how to serve them.
15. Practices extreme safety in the use of food preparation equipment.
Education Requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience Requirements:
Food service experience preferred.
