Position Overview:
Cleans premises in an assigned location to maintain a sanitary environment which is orderly and attractive in appearance. 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES JOB DUTIES AND PROJECTS: 
1. Understand and use correct cleaning chemical and the correct dilution ratio when cleaning in hospital areas. 
2. Clean and disinfect and use the correct procedure as trained when cleaning all areas of the hospital. 
3. Orders supplies for departments as required. 
4. Collects and disposes of trash bio-hazard waste and soiled linen using proper procedures. 
5. Reads and understands area checklist follows as written using the proper procedures. 

SAFETY: 
6. Uses correct procedure of wet mopping in patient rooms tile areas bathrooms stairs and all other areas of the hospital. 
7. Uses safety precautions at all times when mopping floors lifting items or using electrical machines. 
8. Always wears proper personal protective equipment when needed. 

QUALITY AND QUANITY: 
9. Conscious of and able to judge the detailed appearance in the area being cleaned. 
10. Keeps Supervisor/Lead informed of changes progress and problem areas. 
11. Effectively judges when completion of task or resolution of problem requires review or assistance of supervisor or appropriate person. 
12. Contributes to development and maintenance of Environmental Services policies and procedures. 

TIME MANAGEMENT: 
13. Reads daily schedule and if questions goes over with the supervisor/lead person at the start of each shift. 
14. Consistently coordinates and organizes in order to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency. 
15. Strives to meet deadlines and daily responsibilities. Keep Supervisor/Lead person informed if problems meeting the deadline. 
16. Completes in a timely fashion specific responsibilities for scheduled work area without reminder. 
17. Willing to adjust schedule in conjunction with the process of department needs. 
18. Returns promptly from errands coffee breaks and meals; does not waste time with non-essential interruptions; maintains a prompt attitude. 
19. Does not receive unnecessary personal phone calls at work. Does not have friends family or other visitors visiting while at work during work time. 
20. Does not spend time conversing with other departments or other employees on a personal level during work time. 

ATTENDANCE: 
21. Uses proper call-in procedure when being absent or late. 
22. Uses proper planning when using PTO hours. 
23. Willingly works assigned weekends and holidays. 

TEAMWORK: 
24. Complies with all policies and procedures. 
25. Demonstrates a willingness to help build trust and willingly helps others develop new skills a directed. 
26. Willingly assists others in free time as needed and directed. 
27. Understands and communicates instructions direction and information correctly. 
28. Responsive to director supervisor and lead personnel. 

CUSTOMER SERVICE: 
29. Uses courtesy and respect at all times to fellow employees and supervisors. 
30. Always gives good courteous customer service to all customers including patients as well as other employees. 

COST CONTAINMENT: 
31. Uses the correct procedures and care hen doing the maintenance of equipment. 
32. Uses proper procedures when using chemicals and supplies. Making sure they are being used in correct areas and on correct materials and in the correct measurements. 
33. Stores all equipment in proper manner and place. 

PERSONAL APPEARANCE: 
34. Practices both personal hygiene and dress code procedures according to Environmental Services Personal Appearance Policy as well as MCRMC's Personal Appearance Policy. 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES OF TECH: 
35. Assessing the area or item being dusted using proper procedure and chemical as trained. 
36. Isolation Cleaning using proper PPE (personal protective equipment) required chemicals used and trained procedure. 
37. Terminal Cleaning of patient rooms and exam rooms using proper chemicals and trained procedures. 
38. Complies with all infection control standards throughout the hospital.

Education Requirements:
High school education or equivalent preferred. 

Experience Requirements:
On-the-job training provided previous housekeeping experience preferred.

None required.
