Position Overview: Monitors cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac screen or telemetry monitors. Transcribes physician orders from records and enters orders accurately into the computer. Provides clerical support to the critical care staff and other members of the healthcare team.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
" Provides accurate and timely interpretation and dissemination of information to critical care staff members and other members of the health care team related to patients cardiac rhythms as per cardiac monitoring. " Provides clerical support to critical care staff and other members of the healthcare team. " Promotes and supports all Team Mercy standards of quality customer service. " Promotes continuous quality improvement in operations and in job performance. Education Requirements: BLS required. Prior Experience with Cardiac Monitoring and/or Successful completion of Cardiac Monitoring Instruction within 3 months of hire. Experience Requirements: One year acute care medical/surgical or pediatric nursing experience preferred. Prior Cardiac Monitoring experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Utilizes the nursing process to deliver care to individual patients. Accepts assignment responsibilities as an accountable member of the healthcare team. Works cooperatively with nursing ancillary and other patient-team personnel to maintain standards of professional nursing practice. Knowledge of medical terminology, computer skills and ability to accurately interpret Cardiac monitor rhythms necessary.
