JOB DESCRIPTION:
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Provides direct and indirect care in the operating room setting. Communicates with physicians/Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomology.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Provides comprehensive nursing care within the framework of the nursing process.
· Collaborates with patients, families and other members of the healthcare team.
· Promotes and supports all Team Mercy standards of quality customer service.
· Promotes continuous quality improvement in operations and in job performance.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Current Kansas License required. ACLS and BLS verification within 2 months of hire.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Preferred OR Experience or completion of comprehensive OR orientation.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Utilizes the nursing process to deliver care to individual patients. Accepts assignment responsibilities as an accountable member of the healthcare team. Works cooperatively with nursing, ancillary and other patient-team personnel to maintain standards of professional nursing practice.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Full mobility and ability to complete vigorous activities. Must be able to lift, support and move patients and equipment. Must be able to function under stressful situations and for extended shift hours. Has ability to organize multiple activities simultaneously.
