POSITION OVERVIEW:
Provides direct and indirect care in the medical/surgical and emergency room setting. Communicates with physicians/Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse/co-workers as appropriate about changes in the patient's clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomology. This setting requires staff to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
* Provides comprehensive nursing care within the framework of the nursing process.
* Provides complete communication of nursing care and patient's response to care.
* Collaborates with patients families and other members of the health care team.
* Promotes and supports all Wamego City Hospital standards of quality customer service.
* Promotes continuous quality improvement in operations and in job performance. Education Requirements: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Kansas. BLS verification. Experience Requirements: Preferred one year of medical surgical and/or emergency room nursing experience.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Utilizes the nursing process to deliver care to individual patients. Accepts assignment responsibilities as an accountable member of the healthcare team. Works cooperatively with nursing, ancillary and other patient-team personnel to maintain standards of professional nursing practice. Verification of ACLS, PALS (or ENPC), and TNCC at time of hire or within one year of hire.
