Provides direct and indirect care on the assigned patient care unit during scheduled shift. Communicates with physicians and patient care team as appropriate about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomology. Collaborates with nursing staff, physicians, ancillary personnel to plan and deliver patient care utilizing nursing standards. Provides patient and family with teaching/education as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Provides comprehensive nursing care within the framework of the nursing process.
· Collaborates with patients, families and other members of the healthcare team.

· Promotes continuous quality improvement in operations and in job performance.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Current Kansas License, ACLS and BLS verified or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
At least two years of full-time clinical nursing experience.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Utilizes the nursing process to deliver care to individual patients. Accepts assignment responsibilities as an accountable member of the healthcare team. Works cooperatively with nursing, ancillary and other patient-team personnel to maintain standards of professional nursing practice.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Full mobility and ability to complete vigorous activities. Must be able to lift, support and move patients and equipment. Must be able to function under stressful situations and for extended shift hours. Has ability to organize multiple activities simultaneously.
