JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating patient care activities and nursing service staffing. May act as the designee for Hospital Administration and/or other departments in their absence.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Coordinates hospital-wide nursing staffing and administration through effective management of human and material resources.
Promotes and supports all Team Mercy standards of quality customer service.
Promotes continuous quality improvement in operations and in job performance.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field is preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Three to five years of clinical nursing experience or related healthcare position. Previous management or supervisory experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Licensed by the Kansas State Board of Nursing (RN); ACLS certified. Requires critical thinking skills to serve as a resource in patient care and familiarity with organization and function of all hospital departments.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Full mobility and ability to participate in vigorous activity including ability to lift, support and move patients and equipment. Must be able to cope with stressful situations, extended shift hours, and coordinate several activities simultaneously. Required to sit, talk, hear, stand, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel or crouch.
