Job Overview
Plexus Technology Group's Boulder Design Center, an electronics product development center of 60+ employees located just minutes from the breathtaking Rocky Mountains, is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to develop embedded software for a wide variety of complex electronics products.
Responsibilities
- Assist the development team in defining software architecture and functional requirements for electronic products.
- Participate in the research of new technology and development tools for new electronic products.
- Perform formal software functional analysis and design.
- Implement and test software using various programming languages and test methods.
- Interface closely with customers throughout all phases of new product development.
- Participate in full life-cycle activities of software development process including specification, architecture, design and verification.
- Communicate software concept plans with the development team, the project manager and the customer
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- BS degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in embedded systems, real time applications, C, C++ or Assembly, and CASE tools.
- Development experience using 8-bit and 32-bit microprocessors.
- Demonstrated proficiency with C or C++.
- Legal authorization to permanently live and work in the United States without visa or employer sponsorship.
Additional preferred qualifications:
- Experience developing medical and/or safety-critical products in a QSR environment
- Familiarity and use of various operating systems such as Windows CE, Embedded Linux, and VxWorks.
- Possess a working knowledge of object-oriented software engineering methods.
- DSP programming for video and audio applications.
- Previous success with hardware-software integration in a lab environment.
- Possess mentoring skills to develop less-experienced software developers.
- Ability to work well in a team atmosphere
- Possess good oral and written communication skills
