Intern Mechanical Facility Systems

We seek a Mechanical Facility Systems Intern interested in a rewarding career in a fast-paced, team environment. The individual will work within a group of engineers and technicians to fulfill the responsibilities for a variety of process and industrial projects.

Essential job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Pre-Construction Phase

• Assist in the creation of responsibility matrices, cost estimates, schedules and other project tools.
• Assist in the review, and report on equipment quotations, contractor bids, proposals, and technical submissions.
• Assist in the solicitation of bids, review bids, specify and purchase mechanical, electrical, and controls equipment for projects.
• Review shop drawings.
• Create P&IDs, control sequences, design specifications, flow diagrams.
• Design, set up and perform system functionality tests on equipment at ACS Manufacturing Facility, and at customer sites.

Construction Phase

• Periodic visits to the jobsite to check conformance to design.

Commissioning Phase

• Assist in the onsite startup and validation of equipment.

Basic requirements include:

• Pursuing four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering, third or fourth year students preferred.
• PLC or Instrumentation class experience would be a plus but not required.
• Experience or involvement and/or internship experience with Gasoline and diesel engine a plus.
• Ability to travel to customer facilities for design meetings, equipment installation supervision and commissioning.
• Highly effective oral and written communication skills and highly effective interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

• Must have the following personal skills and characteristics: Problem solving skills and ability to work effectively with all internal and external levels and groups.
