Contract Supervisor / Enrichment Industries / Full Time

Job Location: Palm Bay, FL (Rest Area)

Hours: 32.5 hrs, Mon – Fri, 2nd shift

NATURE OF WORK
This is more responsible and specialized vocational training work with Respect of Florida/NISH supervising individuals with disabilities and functional limitations while they perform vocational tasks specific to a single contract.

Work involves responsibility for a yearly budget; supervision of numerous ACT client employees. Incumbent is responsible for scheduling, hiring, terminating, training, and overall supervision; inventory control; planning, assigning, and instructing. Assignments are typically received in the form of general instructions and the incumbent is expected to organize the details of the assignment and carry them through to completion.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF WORK (May perform one or more of the following sets of duties.)
Responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of client employees. Responsible for hiring, terminating, scheduling, inspecting, and training the client work crew.

Calculates payroll data; orders supplies; maintains equipment; trains client work crew on equipment and overall operating responsibilities.

Provides direct and indirect raining and support for client employees on an individual basis; provides positive reinforcement; serves as a role model; addresses behavior/performance problems.

Maintains client employee files; documents client employee progress according to contract regulations. Completes all required reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis.

Communicates effectively, orally, and in writing with employees, the public, other agencies, NISH/Respect, etc.; ensures compliance with the rules and regulations of the contract.

Operates standard office equipment to perform essential functions.

Performs other related work as assigned.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF WORK
Possession of a certificate in Vocational Education or eligible for certification; or high school diploma or GED and four (4) years experience in the human services field or vocational trades; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the following knowledge, abilities, and skills:

Good knowledge of the basic principles, methods, practices and procedures used in vocational labor and trades specific to contract. Knowledge of the chemical hazards associated with cleaning supplies and/or lawn equipment.

Ability to plan, instruct, assign and supervise employee clients with disabilities and functional limitations. Ability to inspect work and make recommendations for improvement. Ability to utilize positive reinforcement techniques to encourage client employees to obtain their maximum potential.

Ability to handle verbally and/or physically abusive and aggressive clients and utilize aggression control techniques to ensure the safety and well being of the client, other clients, and employees in the unit. Ability to communicate effectively with suicidal, mentally, emotionally, and/or psychologically disturbed clients in person and over the telephone. Ability to handle emergency situations in a calm manner.


NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Possession of a valid Florida driver's license, proof of personal automobile insurance, and have acceptable driving record if required to drive Act vehicle and/or use personal vehicle for Act business.

Complete State of Florida mandatory security screening program within five (5) working days of employment if direct contact with children/adolescents may be involved. Complete Aggression Control Techniques, CPR, First Aid and AIDS training during the first six (6) months of employment and updated as required.
