Job Number: 23626 Manufacturing Support Technician Our client is a Charlottesville based company that supplies analysis equipment to the global pharmaceutical industry. Our client currently has a position open in our Charlottesville office for a Manufacturing Support Technician. This individual will be responsible for assisting the engineering and manufacturing staff to produce designs and detailed drawings that will be used for fabrication and document history.

Description:

-Support manufacturing in the design of components required to match customer`s needs.

-Provide technical support to manufacturing for troubleshooting and problem analysis.

-Create new models and detailed drawings using basic drafting skills and complying with standards (i.e., ASME Y14.5M). This includes creating accurate Bill of Materials that reflect the complete list of components for sub-assemblies and top level assemblies.

-Provide exploded views from assemblies and sub-assemblies when needed.

-Revise model and drawings per direction from engineering on scope of change and ensuring historical record is maintained on the drawing (Revision Block).

-Provide maintenance on current database to ensure all models and drawings are up to date, consistent and in compliance with standard practices.

-Work concurrently with engineering and technical staff on projects to ensure the intent of the design is captured on the detailed drawings.

-Prepare project and job drawing packages in an organized manner for presentation and review.

-Maintain drawing files both electronically and via hard copies, where applicable.

-Support, organize and maintain inventory parts, including updating the electronic database, when necessary.



Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

-Exceptional organizational and time management skills

-Ability to understand and follow technical direction

-Strong mechanical aptitude

-Ability to demonstrate attention to detail

-Good personal skills and ability to communicate and work well with others

-Proficient in rendering drawings using SolidWorks (2012/2013 version)

-Strong aptitude for constructing drawings accurately using basic tolerances and GD&T

-Two-year (relative) degree with emphasis on design and drafting

-2-5 years? experience Desirable Qualifications:

-Formal training in GD&T (Geometrical Dimension & Tolerance) following ASME Y14.5M standards

-Experience using SolidWorks PDM

-5-10 years drafting experience This is a temp-to-hire position at 40 hours/week. Please submit resume for consideration only if you meet the minimum requirements.
