Commodity Manager - Information Technology

Job Location: Miami, FL

Description
Affinity Consulting Group, Inc. - A leading provider of Nationwide Direct Hire Professional level Recruiting and Staffing Services is looking for a Commodity Manager – Information Technology for one of our clients with Headquarters in Miami.

Salary:
Up to $75-85k Salary plus Benefits

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Subject matter procurement expert for the IT hardware, software and telecommunications.
• Researches suppliers from a variety of usual and unusual sources.
• Confers with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability and delivery schedule.
• Develops a procurement and negotiation strategy based on multiple and often complex variables.
• Negotiates price, services, availability, transportation and delivery schedule as well as IT commodity related terms and conditions.
• Performs complex price analysis of multiple variables.
• Contributor to the company's delivery and invoicing policies.
• Expert use of analysis, forecasting, problem solving and quality improvement to develop strategies for dynamic market conditions.
• Responsible for implementing and driving change.
• Makes negotiation decisions often in high volatility situations based on multiple market variables with limited guidelines for price and availability.
• Provides guidance to other purchasing personnel.

Experience Required:
• Ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described
• 5-7 years in key Purchasing role for enterprise organization
• At least 2-5 years of experience in at least one of the following disciplines: IT Purchasing, IT Contract negotiations, Telecommunications, Engineering, or other IT related areas such as software.
• Experience in IT Vendor Relations and Negotiations Background with large vendors; MS, Oracle, Cisco, Hardware and Software
• Thorough knowledge of advanced contract finance terms and conditions and advance knowledge of IT related terms
• Expert knowledge of delivery and invoicing requirements.
• MS Office proficiency – Excel, PowerPoint, Word, E-mail, Windows environment

Education, Skills, and Abilities:
• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ yrs related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent Communication: Verbal and Written
• Ability to work independently day to day under management’s strategic direction
• Willing to take accountability and responsibility to get things done.
• Ability to travel domestic and international.

Pluses:

• JD Edwards - purchasing module experience
