Senior Buyer
Job Location: Miami, FL
Salary: Up to $50-60k Salary plus Benefits
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Specializes in a particular good or service for an assigned area such printed materials (menus, brochures, etc.), office supplies, internal facility requirements.
• Researches suppliers from a variety of usual and unusual sources.
• Confers with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability and delivery schedule.
• Develops a procurement and negotiation strategy based on a few variables.
• Negotiates price, availability, transportation and delivery schedule.
• Performs moderately complex price analysis involving a few variables.
• Understands use of analysis, forecasting, problem solving and quality improvement in the execution of strategies.
• Identifies best solutions and ability to execute effectively.
• Makes negotiation decisions based on a few market variables along with guidelines for price, availability, transportation and delivery schedule.
• Seeks guidance on unusual situations.
• Provides guidance to other purchasing personnel.
• Other duties may be assigned.
Experience Required:
• Ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described
• 5+ yrs related purchasing experience
• Moderate to complex level knowledge of uniform commercial code and company standard terms and conditions.
• Expert knowledge of delivery and invoicing requirements.
• Working knowledge of personal computers with in a Windows environment with e-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Skills and Abilities:
• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate in a multicultural environment with all levels of employees and management.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and freedom of decision within guidelines.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple projects and priorities.
• Ability to travel domestic and international.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ yrs related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Pluses:
• JD Edwards - purchasing module experience
