Salary:

Summary:
Clients Team is looking for an Interactive Visual Designer to join their NYC based design studio. This is a full-time staff position, offering an extensive benefits package.
Candidate will design and implement user interfaces for the purpose of rapid, conceptual prototyping and must have the ability to work fast and smart. Candidate will explore and investigate, visualize, and design product concepts working with a small, tightly integrated team of user interface designers and web developers. The product concepts may take the form of high-level visual mock-ups, and functional models of a proposed product. This person must be detail oriented and organized. Responsible for planning and executing projects independently
Experience Required:
• This person must be detail oriented and organized. Responsible for planning and executing projects independently.
• Position requires a high level of artistic talent, design sense, and knowledge of trends and techniques in new media design and development.
• Preferably, candidate should have thorough knowledge and solid skills in sketching and story-boarding. Photoshop, Illustrator, and excellent oral and written communication skills are a must.
• Candidate also should have a strong design portfolio that clearly reflects an enlightened understanding of fundamental user interface design techniques and development processes, preferably in relation to application (and not just web) design.
• Requirements include a proven track record of innovative thinking (reflected either in client or personal design work). Proven Skills and Abilities:
• Expert ability to develop well conceived innovative creative work that reflects a conceptual strategy.
• Good conceptual and problem solving skills.
• Excellent design skills accompanied by the ability to guide and evaluate, and if necessary, redirect creative development.
• Ability to communicate effectively with creative and project management staff, engendering trust and respect.
• Great presentation skills.
• Identify, address and solve technical problems as they relate to interface, screen design and/or the web.
• Begins to see relationships among and across areas
• Possesses strong screen design skills including execution of clean, tight screen designs
• Possesses a thorough understanding of interface design
• Previous computer design experience
• Must be able to design under parameters of applicable publishing
• Possesses knowledge of a broad range of AOL tools, work procedures and in-depth knowledge of the on-line industry
• Originates new concepts, strategies, or innovative approaches that have significant impact on the company.
Skills and Education Required:
• Bachelors degree required - Fine Arts or Graphic Design is preferred
• Minimum of 2-4 years directly related experience including screen art and interface design
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to resolve complex problems and work independently.
