Job Summary:
The dosimetrist is under the general supervision of the Radiation Oncologist and the Senior Medical Physicist. The Medical Dosimetrist designs radiation treatment plans for radiation therapy patients to include, computer generated dose distributions, point dose calculations and dose volume histograms in accordance to the physician's treatment prescription. Primary site is St. Elizabeth Hospital with flexibility to cover hours at Mercy Medical Center when needed.
Job Requirements: Satisfactory completion of an AMA approved school of Radiation Therapy Technology. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy RT(T). Certified by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) is required. Individuals actively seeking certification by the MDCB are required to complete the certification process within two (2) years of hire date. A minimum of two (2) years full-time clinical experience in dosimetry. Two (2) years full-time clinical experience post certification in dosimetry (MDCB) is desirable. Experience with CT based three-dimensional (3D) treatment planning computer systems.
