Responsibilities Conduct job site surveys (including visual inspections, problem identification, etc.). Possess working knowledge of ANSI/TIA/EIA and the National Electrical Code. Possess working knowledge of local area network cabling. Interface with customer contacts on projects & work orders. Interface with end user & coordinate with other vendors for each project when required by customer. Provide technical support for customer contacts & Technicians on request. Attend project planning & progress meetings with or without customer contacts assigned. Report any project scope changes, issues, or concerns to assigned contacts Provide project budgets through bid & quote process. Understands, adheres to, & promotes Environmental, Health & Safety policies. Direct the work of other staff members. Train employees.
Skills/Requirements Must have 1 to 1 1/2 years of training and or telecommunications experience. Must be able to test and terminate copper cabling. Must posses: A valid drivers license Equipment/Manufacturer specific certifications. A High School Diploma or equivalent. (Vocational/Technical/Business School strongly preferred.) Ability to read Blue Prints Ability to travel overnight Strong mechanical aptitude Strong computer skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office & Vendor Specific Software. Ability to follow written & verbal instructions. Desire to become proficient & increase profitability. Ability to manage three or more subordinates. Comprehension of terminology pertaining to installation & service of telecom, data, security & wireless systems. Comprehension of publications pertaining to standard telecom, data, security & wireless systems practices, engineering & Federal, State & local safety standards. Ability to pass applicable state & federal background checks in order to become a registered security installer.
