AFL , a leading fiber optics telecommunications company has an opening for a Environment Health & Safety Engineering Co-op in our Duncan, SC facility. If you are looking for an exciting opportunity while gaining knowledgeable work experience AFL is the organization!

Assume lead position on special projects related to Environmental, Health, or Safety within any or all three manufacturing plants in Duncan SC.  Projects will include research and development of specific EHS opportunities for improvement and implementation of solutions.  These include but are not limited to, injury reduction, ergonomic improvements, environmental aspect and impact improvements, and employee awareness and training.

Responsibilities include:

• 
  Implementation of project solutions.
   
  Develop safe work instructions for jobs that do not have them per training received from EHS Manager.
  
  Development of root causes for specific EHS issues as defined by the EHS Manager.
  
  Development of feasible solutions to specific EHS issues.
  
   Other familiarity includes :
  
  •            Energy reduction
  •            Safe work instructions
  •            Ergonomics
  •           Waste reduction, reuse, and recycling
  •           Water usage reduction
  
   
  

Skills/Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelors Engineering degree in Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Industrial Engineering
• At least Sophomore standing with a minimum 2.5 GPA
