AFL, a leading fiber optics telecommunications company has an opening for a Process/Quality Engineer Co-op in our Duncan, SC facility.

The individual will provide technical assistance supporting AFL`s Fiber Optic Cable Manufacturing group. Tasks will be technically oriented and will require candidate to become familiar with fiber optic cable test procedures. Will work to support applications engineering, product management and manufacturing groups. This role will require strong laboratory and written communication skills.

Responsibilities include:

Ensure AFL`s fiber optic cables conform to industry standards. Learn fiber optic cable test procedures, and work alongside technical associates to perform cable testing utilizing a variety of testing and inspection equipment. Document, analyze and report results of cable performance.




Skills/Requirements

• Currently pursuing an Engineering Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Ceramic
• At least Sophomore standing with a minimum 2.5 GPA
• Must be a US citizen

• Display a willingness to learn
• Detail oriented
• Proficient in MS Office
